Who is ECPHC?
Verses
Matthew 22:37 - 40: 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
Matthew 28:19, 20: 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Our Vision
We at ECPHC are, "Passionately pursuing God, while impacting the community with the love of Christ."
This vision is derived from the commands of Christ found in the above verses. It is our desire at ECPHC to passionately persue God with all of our heart, soul, and mind, while reaching our community and impacting it with the love of Christ.
History
Under the direction of Reverend Mark Potter, who was serving as the Assistant Superintendent and Missions and Evangelism Director for the South Carolina Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, the East Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church was started as a mission in 1987. After several months of worshipping in a small Day Care Center on Leesburg Road, Reverend Robert G. Ward, Sr. was assigned to this new work as Pastor. The church was organized with 39 charter members in 1988.
In July of 1989 the church was moved to its present location at 1213 Hazelwood Road into a multi-purpose building. In December of 1997 the church moved into its present sanctuary. The first phase building is now used as a family Life Center.
Our congregation is made up of people from different walks of life and races. With a message of love and hope, we are striving to build a congregation that will win many souls to Christ. We welcome you to take part in a church where the Gospel is preached and Christ is exalted.
